How to select pipelines in industrial chiller systems?
The development of a refrigeration system includes selecting the sizes of various pipelines and valves in the system, and developing pipeline materials, layout, inclination, and pipeline supports and hangers. It is usually important to pay special attention to ensuring that the pipeline size is large enough, but there are several situations where the minimum refrigerant flow rate must be maintained in the pipeline to clarify the maximum pipeline size.
Most pipelines can transport liquids or gases both horizontally and vertically. The exception is when a mixture of liquid and gas flows through the pipeline. Sometimes gas is responsible for lifting the liquid in the vertical riser. In some cases, the pipeline must be tilted to facilitate the flow of liquid.
The traditional method of selecting pipelines and valves is to use formulas or view data charts. In recent years, with the emergence of software for selecting and calculating pipelines and valves, this type of selection calculation has become increasingly simple. But the majority of the selection and calculation software for refrigeration systems are brought by foreign valve manufacturers. What about these calculation steps? Sometimes some pipelines still require special calculations.
It is important to ensure that the pipeline size is large enough, and in some cases, the minimum refrigerant flow rate in the pipeline should also be ensured to determine the maximum pipeline size.
Most chiller pipelines transport refrigerant or cooling fluid, and there are two options: horizontal and vertical. For example, when a mixture of liquid and gas flows in a pipeline, sometimes the gas action will push the liquid in the vertical riser;
Under special operating conditions, a tilted design of the chiller pipeline is required to facilitate liquid flow and achieve more efficient refrigeration effects.
The expansion valve for the chiller of the Freon refrigeration system shall be placed vertically without tilting or upside down;
Usually, the calculation of pipeline valves is completed through calculation formulas and software. For example, the design of shut-off valves and check valves, the classification of pressure pipelines, and the design of pipe filters.
The various valves of industrial chillers should be made of specialized materials that comply with refrigerant and cooling water circulation.
